Title:  Supply and Inventory Planning Supervisor

Job Purpose and Impact

As the Supply Planning Senior Supervisor, you will lead the team that turns crop input demand into an executable supply plan for Cargill's retail locations in Canada and the AgResource dealer (wholesale) network. You will direct the purchasing, positioning and delivery of crop protection, seed, fertilizer and biological products through a highly seasonal cycle, from early-order purchasing to in-season replenishment and end-of-season returns, balancing customer service against inventory, freight and warehousing costs. Peak spring periods may occasionally require additional hours, and the role includes occasional travel to distribution centers, suppliers and customers.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and develop a team of supply and inventory planners and purchasing administrators, supported by interns during peak season, and make decisions related to hiring, performance, development, succession and disciplinary actions.
• Lead the supply review in the monthly sales and operations planning (S&OP) cycle, turning demand and purchase plans into a constrained supply plan with recommended actions on gaps and risks.
• Partner with product line managers to execute supplier purchase plans and early-order programs, overseeing purchase orders, supply contracts, releases and delivery schedules, including fertilizer contract releases and rail and truck coordination, and resolve supplier shortfalls.
• Direct inventory positioning across distribution centers and retail locations, prioritizing direct-from-supplier shipments where service and cost warrant, and ensure replenishment orders are validated against forecasts and allocations.
• Track forecast accuracy, supplier delivery, service levels, warehouse space utilization and freight cost, and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of four years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Seven years of related experience, including three in supply and inventory planning, purchasing or distribution and two in a supervisory role
• Experience in agricultural inputs, agricultural retail or wholesale, or another highly seasonal, high-volume distribution business
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA or ECC (purchasing, inventory and order management), SAP IBP or a comparable planning system, and Power BI or Tableau
• Experience with S&OP and with managing third-party warehouse and freight providers
• Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), WHMIS and agrichemical warehousing standards
• Professional certification such as ASCM CPIM or CSCP, or the Supply Chain Canada SCMP designation

Position Details

• Location: Winnipeg;  Relocation assistance is not provided for this role 
• Schedule is Monday - Friday; Days. There are also some events that will require work after normal business hours
