This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Digital Supply Chain Product Owner will be responsible for representing the business needs and managing the product backlog to achieve the desired business outcomes. In this role, you will understand customer and business needs, build internal stakeholder commitment, develop deployment roadmaps and partner collaboratively across the organization to jointly develop, launch and govern the product implementation experience, including costs, return on investment, deployment and sustainment, identifying business processes owners and defining the accountability model with the business stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own product strategy and development, from inception to delivery, identifying business value and end user outcomes including key performance indicators and financial return on investment.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure the goals are clear and the vision is aligned with business objectives, utilizing key performance indicators to show progress.
  • Create product roadmaps as a high level, strategic visual summary that outlines the vision and direction for the product offering over time, to be used as a strategic guide for stakeholders to reference and as a plan for execution.
  • Create the product backlog items and prioritize them based on the overall strategy and business objectives and map out project dependencies to inform the necessary sequence of development.
  • Build working solutions or partner collaboratively with other team members in the Smart, Data & Analytics or DT&D teams to deliver the data and technology projects  
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Clear understanding of agile values, frameworks and metrics
  • Solid background on data and analytics with proved past experience leading data and technology projects
  • Experience leading change and communication with a large and diverse group of stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating teams and breaking down business requirements into deliverables
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project management experience
  • Agile product owner certification
  • Supply chain planning and execution experience
