Location
This role is based at Cargill's Global Headquarters in Wayzata, Minnesota and currently offers a hybrid work environment with a minimum of three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days remote each week.
Job Purpose and Impact
- The Senior Director, Finance Corporate FP&A – Capital and Portfolio Management provides financial leadership and oversight to the enterprise-wide capital allocation and portfolio strategy, ensuring it is in line with corporate priorities and risk/return objectives. This position partners and influences enterprises and corporate senior stakeholders to deliver process transformation and data-driven insights that enhance investment performance. In addition, is the steward of Cargill’s balance sheet usage and cash flow generation and leads cross-functional teams to ensure value creation is delivered.
Key Accountabilities
- FP&A OVERSIGHT & IMPROVEMENT: Partners with businesses and functions to ensure analyses are relevant and insightful, applying external benchmarks and new perspectives on financial planning and analysis and management practices.
- STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT AND TRANSFORMATION: Drives finance process transformation by partnering with key stakeholders across businesses, functions, and corporate finance with the goal of improving the returns of the capital portfolio and the quality of decision-making.
- FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS: Applies financial expertise to drive value within the organization. Leverages data and technology to provide insights into business performance against industry benchmarks, and to focus senior leadership on the most critical risks and opportunities. Partners with the Chief Financial Officer, Enterprise Finance Leaders, Treasury, Tax and Total Rewards Leaders to deliver quarterly & annual board of directors materials related to capital expenditure, balance sheet, cash flow, and weighted average cost of capital.
- SETS PERFORMANCE METRICS: Establishes metrics and targets and leverages benchmarks to assess performance and progress to provide key investment information to executive leaders and the board of directors in the form of data and quantitative details.
- TEAM MANAGEMENT: Manages direct and indirect team members to achieve the organization's goals, by ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable, supporting employee development, recognizing achievement and lessons learned, and developing enabling conditions for talent to thrive in an inclusive team culture.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 8 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience partnering closely with Treasury, Tax, and CFO organizations on capital, financing, and performance communication.
- Strong background in finance process transformation, including modernization of planning, performance management, or capital governance processes.
- Successful leadership of cross-functional and cross-enterprise teams, influencing without direct authority.
- Advanced experience leveraging data, analytics, and emerging technologies (e.g., ERP platforms, AI-enabled tools) to improve decision quality and investment outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, decision-ready insights for senior and non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven Financial Planning & Analysis experience in large multinational companies
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or similar Master's degree
- ERP platforms, AI-enabled tools, Visualization tools
Compensation Data
The expected salary for this position is $190,000 - $300,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
