Title:  Business Controller, CASC Philippines

Job Purpose and Impact

The Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting business decision-making for the grain import and trading operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions in a dynamic commodity trading environment.

Key Accountabilities

• Financial Reporting:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

  Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Implement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
  • Support internal and external audits, addressing findings promptly.

  Business Support:

  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support commercial decisions and risk management.
  • Collaborate with trading and operations teams to ensure proper accounting for commodity transactions.

  Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Drive automation and digitalization initiatives within the finance function.

   

Qualifications

Education:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience:

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and internal controls.
• Exposure to commodity trading or agribusiness is a strong advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Experience in working with cross functional partners

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Other:

• CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not mandatory.
