Job Purpose and Impact

The Premium Beef Sales Specialist will be responsible for selling and facilitating the field sales effort for the Beef category (with a focus on premium boxed beef programs) in foodservice sales. This position will work with the West field sales team in support of their effort to sell across the channel – distributors, regional chains and key local leveraged operators.

Key Accountabilities

  • Direct selling and maintaining premium and program beef business. Evaluate and create growth opportunities with customers where we do not currently have business.
  • Facilitate ongoing face-to-face customer training, team training, food shows, and manage business travel and customer promotional expense within assigned budgets.
  • Peer mentoring to other Cargill Foodservice team members within area of responsibility around the protein category.
  • Record pre-call plans and post-call notes as directed by the sr. director of field sales. Ensure communication with respective stakeholders. Use SalesForce.com tool to effectively track and maintain account data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or higher degree
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the meat/protein industry
  • Experience in a customer-facing role (sales, customer service, technology, culinary) interacting, developing solutions and resolving issues for customers
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of foodservice meat protein sales experience
  • Knowledge and/or past experience selling other foodservice products (ie., value-added meats, eggs, oils & dressings, salt)
  • Experience managing brokers
  • Ability to develop and execute a strategic sales plan directly with customer
  • Strong ability to meet sales goals from a field selling position
  • Sales Effectiveness or other sales training
  • Experience using SalesForce or other customer relationship management tool

External Applicant Information

Location: This is a remote position open to candidates based in the Western United States (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.) 

The expected base salary for this position is approximately $115,000 to $135,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal.
