Job Purpose and Impact
The Sanitation Operator I, will perform housekeeping and sanitation processes using basic equipment and following sanitation schedules and safety processes. In this role, you will maintain good housekeeping and sanitation conditions to ensure food safety regulations and other local regulations are met, prevent failures and maintain safe work areas.

Location: Georgetown, ON
Job type: Permanent-Full time
Compensation: $24.13/hr+$0.50/hr night shift premium.
Shift available: Night shift (10:45 pm-7:00 am, Sunday – Friday)
Key Accountabilities
- Utilize cleaning supplies such as rags, brooms, mops, vacuums, floor scrubber and extendable poles to clean assigned areas and equipment as assigned or scheduled
- Fill soap, sanitizer, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers throughout the plant
- Empty garbage and recycling receptacles throughout the plant
- Utilize and store cleaning chemicals as described on individual Safety Data Sheets.
- Comply with Cargill Respiratory Protection program (able to wear a mask N95 respirator)
- Document completed tasks using the master sanitation schedule and daily cleaning schedule
- Complete Job safety analysis for monthly or infrequent tasks
- Clean pipes, tanks or racks on heights as other equipment, walls and floors
- Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice for training.
- Cleaning experience
- Good documentation skills
- Ability to understand and communicate in English(verbal/written)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in cleaning in a plant environment
