This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions. 

Job Purpose and Impact

This position is in Cargill’s Ocean Transportation business within our Ag and Trading enterprise.

The Trader will be responsible for developing a parceling book within their region, managing customers and the physical execution of the program. The role requires an entrepreneurial and inquisitive mindset – eager to explore opportunities and creatively find solutions to optimize logistics. Through this optimization and by taking a trading view the trader will independently generate a regional P&L while contributing to the broader desk strategy and stepping into wider responsibilities when required. Because of the variety in execution methods the role offers exposure to multiple vessel classes, from small Handys up to Babycapes as well as the opportunity to develop regional and global trading views. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Originate, build and monetise a physical regional parceling book using a deep understanding of local customers and freight dynamics.
  • Develop and express regional trading views through positioning and timing activity in the market.
  • Collaborate with global trading desks to optimize flows, share market intelligence, and support cross-regional opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 3 years of relevant work experience.
