Job Purpose and Impact
The Trade Compliance Excellence Sr. Analyst will ensure that Cargill’s import and export activities comply with all applicable international trade regulations, with a specific focus on preferential origin determination. This role involves managing origin assessments under Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), maintaining documentation to support origin claims, and mitigating risks associated with incorrect origin declarations. The analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure compliance and optimize duty savings opportunities.
We offer possibility to work remote 3 days per week after implementation period.
Key Accountabilities
- Determine and validate the preferential origin of goods under applicable FTAs and trade programs (e.g., EU FTAs, PEM Convention).
- Interpret and apply complex rules of origin, including product-specific rules, cumulation, and value-added criteria.
- Maintain and manage origin documentation, such as supplier declarations, long-term supplier declarations (LTSDs), and certificates of origin.
- Monitor changes in trade agreements and origin rules and assess their impact on Cargill’s operations.
- Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and legal teams to ensure accurate origin determination and documentation.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on preferential origin requirements and best practices.
- Maintain and update trade compliance documents and procedures, monitor compliance of processes according to regulatory standards, assess risks, and execute and monitor controls, perform analysis coming from regulatory updates impacting Cargill cross border operations.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews of origin determinations and documentation to ensure compliance and readiness for customs audits.
- Utilize global trade management systems (e.g., SAP GTS) to manage and automate origin processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in trade compliance or customs, with a focus on preferential origin.
- Ability to interpret and apply rules of origin under various FTAs.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (economic, logistic, financial) or equivalent experience.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade documentation.
- Experience managing SAP GTS
