Job Purpose and Impact

The Assistant Manager - Production will assist and execute all production processes within a single technical process or shift, ensuring areas of responsibilities meet company standards for safety, quality, efficiency and financial performance. We seek a multifaceted team leader who will be able to undertake project work off shift when required and deputize when needed in the absence of the shift manager.

Key Accountabilities

Production Planning & Shopfloor Execution:

 

Plan, coordinate and execute daily production activities in the Liquid Section to achieve production targets, delivery schedules and customer requirements while maintaining productivity, quality and safety standards.
Ensure effective manpower deployment, material availability, and equipment readiness for seamless shopfloor operations.
Lead and support shopfloor teams in achieving operational objectives and resolving day-to-day manufacturing challenges.
Ensure compliance with approved manufacturing processes, SOPs, GMP requirements, quality standards and safety regulations.
Monitor critical process parameters and maintain process discipline to ensure consistent product quality.
Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate production records and compliance documentation.
Drive adherence to production and quality management systems to minimize deviations and ensure regulatory compliance.
Analyze customer complaints, internal defects, rejections, and process deviations to identify root causes.
Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce quality complaints and enhance customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and strengthen quality controls.
Monitor quality KPIs and drive continuous initiatives to reduce scrap, rework and product non-conformities

 

Continuous Improvement (CI):

 

Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on productivity enhancement, waste reduction and process efficiency.
Implement 5S, Kaizen and structured problem-solving methodologies to improve plant performance.
Drive process improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency, reduce losses and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
Track CI initiatives and monitor the realization of targeted benefits and performance improvements

 

Data Gathering and Analysis:

 

Support to collect and Validate data and participate in the analysis of the same
Monitor key KPIs, including Productivity, BRR, Yield, OEE, Quality Performance, Volume Losses and Downtime and participate in the brainstorming for improving the same
Validate and monitor FTE, Value Creation Savings Tracker etc
Participate in RCA activities and Corrective actions

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharma/Food/Chemicals with minimum 3-5 years of experience
  • Effective communication and team development skills.
  • Computer literate
  • Previous experience as team leader in a production environment or shown ability in a skilled operative position with the willingness to undertake further qualification if required.
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience of continous improvement in manufacturing set-up.
